The Season Is Shifting (Is Your Nervous System Ready?)
You looked up from your desk and the sun was already setting. Earlier than it should be. Earlier than you were ready for.
Hi Reader,
I was sitting at my desk this week, mid-task, when I looked up and realized the sun was already setting. It was earlier than it had been just two weeks before. Something in my chest quietly shifted with it and realized fall is coming.
WHAT YOUR BODY KNOWS
The transition from summer to fall is one of the most difficult transitions of the year. Are you still eating lunch at your desk, still saying yes to one more thing, still carrying the heat and pace of summer into a new season that is asking you to slow down?
In Ayurveda, this is the beginning of vata season, the energy of movement and change, and it's easy to feel it as scattering instead of settling. Skipped meals, rushed transitions, one more project. Your nervous system notices all of it, each skipped meal, each time you immediately go from one task to the next. But your nervous system is also listening for the moments you choose to pause, and every one of those moments tells your body it's safe to come back home to itself to create a greater sense of ease.
The bottom line: In Vata season, your body is trying to tell you something. It needs a slower pace and more self-care.

An Easy Way to Understand Nervous System Regulation
I wrote this latest blog article because so many of you have asked what nervous system regulation actually means, in plain language. It breaks down what's happening in your body when you feel wired, when you feel shut down, and what brings you back to balance. Read the post here.โ

WHAT RHYTHM ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE
Your digestion doesn't stay the same all year, and this transition is when it needs the most support, since all the heat your body carried through summer has to go somewhere. This is the time of the year when your body begins asking for warm, moist, wet foods. Spiced apples and pears are a great breakfast option. Fall is asking for a slower pace instead of summer's rush.
SOUL CHECK-IN: Where in your body are you noticing the heat of summer lingering? Digestive upset, joint inflammation, irritability? |

P.S. Wired but exhausted isn't a personality trait. It's not something you were born with. It's physiology, and I explain exactly why in this week's blog. Read it here.
